Use of tampons

First, wash your hands thoroughly. Pull the colour cord and remove the cellophane cover from the end where the withdrawal cord is attached.

Pull the withdrawal cord and rotate it in order to make a small hollow in the base of the tampon.

Place your index finger in the hollow, remove the remaining cellophane and push the tampon into the vagina as far as comfortably possible. The withdrawal cord should remain outside the vagina.

The tampon is correctly inserted when you are no longer aware of it. When the tampon is saturated, remove it by gently pulling on the cord.

For the first three days, when the flow is at its heaviest, the tampon should be changed every 3-4 hours. Towards the end of the period the tampon can remain inside for a longer time, but not for more than 8 hours.

When you use a tampon during the night, please insert a fresh tampon before going to sleep and replace the tampon with a new one first thing in the morning. It is not necessary to change the tampon each time you go to the toilet.
